About the Mill

Les Morrison is a 4th generation farmer whose family has raised dairy cattle, sheep, pigs and chickens. Over 26 years ago Les brought his strong farm family values into the feed business and began manufacturing custom mixes under Morrison's Custom Feeds.

It began as a small mill with a few basic ingredients, expanding over the years to meet the growing needs of their valued customers. In 1999, certified organic feeds were added to the product line. In 2002 Les's son, Earl, completed his high school senior project--the pellet mill--enabling them to offer pelleted feeds with many standard mixes for each season.

Over the years Les has passed his knowledge and work ethics onto his two sons, Earl and Greg. In 2005 Earl graduated from SUNY Cobleskill with a Bachelor degree in Agriculture Business and returned to the family business in Barnet. Today he manages the plant and drives tractor trailer for the company.  Greg recently graduated with his Bachelor degree from SUNY Cobleskill as well and now is working at the mill full time.  In 2008 Earl and Greg worked together to install a pellet mill in the conventional feed plant and are now offering bulk custom dairy pellets and more.  Contact the mill to get more information about available pelleted feeds.

The mission remains the same - to provide farmers with custom formulated feeds made with the highest quality ingredients, delivered with prompt, outstanding service. Les, Melody, Earl, Greg, and all the employees at Morrison's Custom Feeds take great pride in serving the New England farmers.
